Join us as we celebrate the 4th of July with fireworks, food and fun! This year’s celebration includes music from The Insiders: Tom Petty Tribute Band. Music will be on the front lawn of Dow Diamond at 8:00 p.m. followed by the crown jewel of the evening, the annual fireworks display at dusk (roughly 10 pm).
The fireworks will be launched across the river from the St. Charles Softball Diamonds. To accommodate the launch, St. Charles and Towsley Streets will be closed from 6 am July 4th to 6 am on July 5th. Crews will also close the Chippewa Trail between the Tridge and Whitman Drive, including the Chippewa Trail leg of the Tridge, on July 4th from 6 am to midnight.
At dusk (roughly 10 pm) guests will be treated to an outstanding Fourth of July fireworks display. They will be visible from the outside grounds of Dow Diamond, Founders Park, Whiting Overlook Park, and other downtown locations. Please be aware that buildings and other permanent structures may obstruct views of the fireworks show. To find the best seat, please ensure you have an open area in front of you. In addition to the fireworks, vendors will be on hand with your favorite food and beverages to keep your family full. Bring your friends, family, lawn chairs and blankets to the event of the summer!
FOR YOUR SAFETY
For the safety and enjoyment of all spectators, personal fireworks like sparklers, firecrackers, and other items will be prohibited in city parks. As an additional safety measure, please consider leaving your pets at home while you enjoy the fireworks event. Police officers will patrol the parks during the fireworks spectacular.
