Advertising on MichiganFireworks.com
I'm working on this section - honest.
Every year,
I get asked if I will include links on
my site, or if I will accept direct
advertising.
It's a
difficult subject. As far as the
links - the links I add are the ones *I*
like, and that I use myself and feel
will be of value to my readers. I
don't sell links, and I won't link to
just anyone. If you want to ask me
to look at your site and consider it for
a link, go ahead - but don't get your
hopes up. I also don't have time
to do a lot of reviewing.
As far as
advertising - I will consider it, and am
working on figuring out my rates.
I want to offer something comparable to
the advertising I already run. I
do reserve the right to approve the ads
*and* the destination site and/or url,
and to refuse advertising I'd rather not
run, for reasons I may or may not
specify. I will only run
family-friendly advertising.
The sizes I
plan on having available will be
standard 125x125, 468x60 and 160x600 ad
blocks (I'll put up sample sizes later)
There will
be some pricing posted later - it will
be a sliding scale; obviously due to the
nature of my site, advertising is worth
more at some times of the year rather
than others.
I get the
most traffic between Memorial Day and
July 9th or 10th; up to 70,000 pageviews
per day. There are also smaller
spikes around Labor Day and New Year's
Eve. I do get traffic year round,
but obviously, it pales in comparison to
what I get in the summer.
As of this
writing, the site enjoys stellar search
engine position in all three major
search engines, usually listed in the
top three results for every major town,
date & village in Michigan. Last
year, when Yahoo released search
information about fireworks searches by
state, Michigan came in first by a wide
margin. And this site sits
squarely in the number one position for
that search, and has for several years.
If you are interested in advertising to
a Michigan audience,
drop me a line. |
